Snow & sunshine

All roads are clear to Idyllwild and there’s still patchy snow on the ground and possibly more Sunday night.  Sunny weather abounds – come on up!

Snow this weekend

Snow is in the forecast for the Idyllwild area this weekend.   Keep an eye on our weather & road conditions links.

Blanket of snow & blue skies

What more can one ask but a blanket of fluffy snow and blue skies.  The temp is already mid 40′s – don’t know how long the snow will last – come up today there’s plenty of availability at the inn tonight and Thursday night.  The inn is sold out this weekend but we have a romantic  in-village apartment available called Artist’s Metro Flat.  There are also plenty of vacation rental cabins from which to choose for the whole family.  Other than for an arrival today, for which you’ll need to call, check out our online Reservation Calendars.

Light snowfall

Off and on light snowfall all day but not really sticking yet – at least not in the village area.  We’ll probably wake up to a fluffy blanket of snow in the morning.  Come play in the snow mid-week and enjoy discounted rates.

Idyllwild has transformed in to a winter wonderland!

Idyllwild is covered under a blanket of  snow about 6-8 inches of the fluffy stuff – more than was expected.  Come on up and enjoy it.  There are some rooms available at the Inn for Friday or Sunday (nothing for Saturday) and there are a few vacation rental cabins available for a two-night minimum.    Check out our new online reservation system to select something.  Note that there are two systems two choose from.  One for the Inn and one for the Vacation Rentals.

Blanky of snow

In that we only got about an inch or so of snow last night I don’t know whether to call it a blanket of snow or just a throw; in either case it’s very pretty in Idyllwild this morning.

An inch or so in the village, which means more higher up.  The roads should be fine today.

Very pretty for snuggling up in front of a fireplace with your Valentine… and we have a couple of rooms still available at the Inn.

Gently falling snow

Tiny little flecks of snow started falling about an hour ago.  They are larger now but still not sticking.  This winter storm has finally arrived.  It’s so gentle I hate calling it a storm… how about this winter weather finally arrived?

Keep an eye on Weather & Road Condition links if you are traveling to Idyllwild.

Got weather? No? How about snow Monday & Tuesday?

Check out as many weather web sites as you can before traveling to Idyllwild Monday or Tuesday.  Snow seems very likely below 5,000 feet early Monday morning through Tuesday.  Use the weather and road conditions links and the James Reserve webcam on our web site.

It was 70 degrees yesterday and today it’s snowing, though not enough to stick yet.

If coming to Idyllwild watch the forecasts.

Snow Watch Report

Idyllwild village area was covered in a dusting of snow last night.  It’s 7:45 am and I  just saw a pick-up drive by with 3-4″ on it so there was obviously more at the higher elevations like Fern Valley and Pine Cove.  Those looking for snow play opportunities will have to look to the higher elevations for satisfaction.

The forecast for Thanksgiving is a slight chance of snow Thursday night.  Keep an eye on the Weather & Road Conditions link on our web site for updates.
