Quiet Creek Living Room Gallery’s Paul Strahm won 2nd place for his plein air painting, “Breakfast Time”, at last weekend’s Art Alliance of Idyllwild’s Members’ Show. The painting represents the entrance to Idyllwild’s village area with Red Kettle on the left – a popular breakfast/lunch place. Of note is the street banner where “Casey” can just be depicted. The painting was done while Casey Abrams, an Idyllwild resident, was still in the top six on American Idle. The banner was a gift from his Idyllwild Arts Academy graduating class and said, “Idyllwild is Idol Wild for Casey, Idyllwild Arts Class of 2009″. Coincidentally, Paul’s wife, Denise is a big Casey Abrams fan.
