It’s 7:20 am and we had a light dusting of snow in the early morning hours – less than an inch.  It’s currently 36 degrees with no precipitation.  The snow plow just went by, which means the roads will be clear – for now.  Heard thru Facebook that higher up in the valley got a couple of inches.

The National Weather Service forecast continues to be backed off.  Now 80% chance of precipitation today with less than 5″ accumulation in Idyllwild:

Today: Snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. High near 37. West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow showers, mainly before 10pm. Some thunder is also possible. Low around 23. West wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Sunday: A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 36. West wind between 5 and 10 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 20. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast.

Washington’s Birthday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44. South wind around 5 mph becoming east.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 27.
