More snow last night

Snow accumulation in Idyllwild last night was about another 10-12″ with more in the higher elevations like Pine Cove and Fern Valley.  Another 5-9″ is expected for today.  The roads are plowed but it might snow all day.

We will not be accepting any last minute vacation rental bookings today because they might not be accessible.  We do have one studio for up to two guests at the inn for tonight.

Winter Wonderland

It’s 7:45 am. Idyllwild had about 15-16″ snow accumulation overnight.  More up in Fern Valley and Pine Cove about 10″ or so here at Quiet Creek Inn.  It’s a Winter Wonderland, which is my code for we got dumped on.  Light snow with little accumulation is forecast up until 10 am.

Roads are plowed – all the major roads anyway – even Delano.

This snow will last for a couple weeks.  Make plans to come up and play in it – next weekend.  This weekend is pretty much sold out, except two night rentals in a few vacation rentals, and the village will be packed… better to come up mid-week or next weekend.

Snowing

It’s a bit after 4:00 PM and snow is falling more steadily now.  According to the National Weather Service forecast it doesn’t look like we’ll get buried but there will be more of the white fluffy stuff in the morning than there is now.

Light dusting of snow at Quiet Creek Inn

It’s 7:20 am and we had a light dusting of snow in the early morning hours – less than an inch.  It’s currently 36 degrees with no precipitation.  The snow plow just went by, which means the roads will be clear – for now.  Heard thru Facebook that higher up in the valley got a couple of inches.

The National Weather Service forecast continues to be backed off.  Now 80% chance of precipitation today with less than 5″ accumulation in Idyllwild:

Weather update & King suite available Fri/Sat nights

We have an older couple who are afraid to come up in the snow and I need to try to replace their booking.  I have a Creek View King Suite available for Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights for a two-night minimum.  We’ll book the same unit for one-night only for Friday or Sunday night.  We also still have Vacation Rental Cabins available for two night minimums.  You can book through our Reservation Calendar or by giving us a call.

Rain yesterday and cold last night but no snow yet.  Snow seems highly likely (3-5″) Friday and Saturday.  It should be a fun weekend in Idyllwild!
