We woke up to snow this morning! Not a lot but it continued off and on all morning stopping by mid-day. Not a lot of build up – at least not down in the valley where we are. This was the first snow of the season for the village area. There was snow in the high country a couple weeks ago when we got a bit of rain. The roads are plowed and clear.

 One of Quiet Creek Living Room Gallery’s featured artists, Rich Stergulz, recently won Best of Show with Hitchcock and First Place Oil Painting with Amir at the Vista Art Association’s art show.

Monday, November 9th, 2009Jay’s View: new vacation rental has dramatic views
Jay’s View, a remodeled cabin on Falling Leaf, is now available as a vacation rental through Quiet Creek Vacation Rentals.
The cabin is ideal for couples but can be booked for three guests. The gorgeous upstairs bedroom has a king bedroom, views in all directions, three decks, a soaking tub with a view, a walk in shower and a two-sided gas log fireplace warming both the sleeping area and the bathroom area. Downstairs there is a guest bedroom and 3/4 bath. The entry level hosts the living room with wood stove and baby grand piano, dining alcove with drop-dead views, the kitchen and a powder room.
Jay’s View is walking distance to all that the village of Idyllwild has to offer from restaurants to gift shops and galleries.
The weekend rate for two guests is $225/night; each additional guest is $15/night. There is 10% lodging tax and a one-time departure cleaning fee of $75. There are photos in our online Photo Gallery and the cabin can be booked by giving us a call or online using our Reservation Calendar.

 Strawberry Corner, a vintage cabin located at the corner of Village Center Drive and South Circle on Strawberry Creek, is now available as a vacation rental through Quiet Creek Vacation Rentals. The cabin can sleep nine with a king bedroom downstairs, queen bedroom upstairs, kids room upstairs with three twin beds and a queen guest bedroom with a private entrance. The common spaces include a living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen, creek front deck and gazebo.
Strawberry Corner is an easy walk to all that the village of Idyllwild has to offer from restaurants to gift shops and galleries.

Sunday, November 1st, 2009Paul Strahm returns from plein air painting trip to New York City
 Paul Strahm, a featured artist at Quiet Creek Living Room Gallery, just returned from a week-long trip to New York City where he completed eight new oil paintings. We had first dibs and these were two of our favorites. The upper one, Passing under Bow Bridge, is 9X12 and is priced at $850. The lower one, Bow Bridge, is 12X16 and is priced at $1400. Other available paintings include a cityscape with the Empire State Building in the background, and scenes from Central Park including the carousel and the sylvan Literary Walk.
