Delightful weather

The weather this season is incredible.  Night time temps in the 50s and day time in the low 80s with occasional gentle breezes – particularly pleasant down by the creek in the shade of the pines and cedars.  If you want a break from the heat, this is the place.

New Quiet Creek Vacation Rental: Garners’ Xanadu

The well-known Garners’ Xanadu is the newest of Quiet Creek Vacation Rentals’ offerings.  Garners’ Xanadu is located one lot back from Inspiration Point and has breathtaking views in nearly all directions.  The standard rate is $175 per night with discounts on weeknight stays.  Garners’ Xanadu can be booked online or by giving us a call: 800-450-6110.

Owner authorizes price reduction on Oak View

Oak View, which offers views and four bedrooms, has been reduced to $175/night for the first two guests; each additional guest is $15/night.  Book online or by giving us a call: 800-450-6110.

2 Brooks joins Quiet Creek Vacation Rentals

2 Brooks, formerly known as the Patton Cabin, has joined the Quiet Creek team of Vacation Rentals.  2 Brooks is beautifully located on Tahquitz Drive at the confluence of two seasonal brooks before they feed in to Strawberry Creek, which is just across the street.  This location also affords an easy walk to the village either along South Circle or across the creek to Oakwood Street.  The cabin can accommodate a family of eight with a king suite, a queen loft with sofa bed and a double studio with private entrance but it’s  also cozy for a romantic getaway for a couple.

Owner authorizes price reductions on vintage creekside vacation rentals

The owner of Twin Tree Lodge and Twin Tree Cottage on Strawberry Creek has authorized price reductions on both of these vacation rentals.  Twin Tree Cottage is now $125 per night and Twin Tree Lodge, optional spa, is  now $145/night. The Twin Tree property is located on Strawberry Creek across the creek from the heart of the lower village area (across from Strawberry Creek Square and the new exercise course at the Community Center).  Both cabins are vintage cabins and are good representations of “old Idyllwild”.

Creek still flowing & roses blooming

The temps have been in the 70s daytime (high 40s and low 50s night time), the creek is flowing (can be heard from the majority of the guest rooms), the roses are in blooom… life is good.

This photo was taken last year by Diane Noble, as she says, at the “birthplace” of her latest novel, Sister Wife.  We’ve had several authors start and/or finish books and screenplays at Quiet Creek Inn and in our vacation rental cabins.  There is a very positive and creative “energy” in Idyllwild.

Snow, hail, sleet, rain & wind

We’ve got weather up here in Idyllwild!  Beautiful, giant snow flakes started falling mid-morning and are now alternating between sleet, hail and light rain with some wind thrown in for good measure.  Don’t get the sleds out yet.  I don’t expect it to stick.  Who’d have thought that this late in May we’d wake up to 32 degrees, have a roaring fire in the fireplace and try to remember where we put our winter coats and gloves.  The coats were easy… they are in the hall closet but I had packed the gloves, stocking caps, etc. away in a storage container for summer.

Mike just walked into the office and said, “where are my hats?!”

Timing is everything.  :-)
