Cabin-on-the-Creek: Cabin Time Rhyme

Breathing peace with the crystal clear mountain air.
Momentarily disturbed by the raucas cries of a Stellar Jay pair.
Forgetting the cares of the city, not minding the motion of the clock.
Gazing at the splendor of the sun setting on Lily Rock-
Relaxing in the hammock, listening to the chuckle of the creek.
Nowhere to rush to, no business to seek.
Amazed by the antics of a gray squirrel in the trees,
flipping,
falling,
leaping,
lolling,
gravity free.
A nuthatch on the trunk of a cedar stashing seeds.
The flutter and dash of a small chickadee.
A glimpse of a titmouse so tiny and gray.
The oncoming chill at the end of the day.
Into the cabin with the fading of the light,
warm and cozy, protected from the cold night.
Sitting with loved ones and talking real low,
wrapped in the crackling fires warm glow.
Refreshing nights of sound sleep and good dreams,
wonderfully awash in starlight and moonbeams.
And though we have to pack and go,
we take memories to cherish as our spirits grow.
